In asphalt/bitumen for road construction, solutions from Arkema cover the full lifecycle of pavement production - from application to performance optimization and recycling. 

Asphalt emulsifiers are specialized surfactants that allow bitumen to be dispersed in water, forming stable emulsions that can be easily stored, transported, andn applied in various road construction processes. We provide bitumen emulsifiers for spray applications, such as: tack coat, prime coat, surface dressing, chip seal, penetration; as well as for coating applications, like: grave emulsion, recycling and storable cold mix; micro surfacing and slurry. Arkema offers dedicated product lines such as Emulsamine®, Dinoram® and Polyram®, which control emulsion stability, breaking behavior, and adhesion to aggregates.

For hot and warm mix asphalt, Arkema provides performance additives that improve workability, coating efficiency, and temperature management during production and paving - most notably the Cecabase® and Cecabase® RT range, which allows reduced mixing and compaction temperatures in warm mix applications while maintaining mechanical strength and durability. 

In recycled asphalt pavement (RAP) systems, Arkema technologies enable higher incorporation of reclaimed materials by restoring compatibility between aged and virgin binders and improving mix homogeneity; products such as Cecabase® RWI are specifically designed to enhance workability and adhesion in mixes with high RAP content.
