Opti-Max™ Performance Powders

Opti-Max Performance powder is a range of specialty thermoplastic polymer powders designed for hot melt adhesives, textile lamination, compounding and masterbatch production. The range includes ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA), thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) and specialty polymer powders, each formulated for its application. Opti-Max Performance powder is supplied in powder form and ready to use in powder applicators, lamination processes and compounding lines.

Available from 65 Shore A to 50 Shore D, with particle sizes from below 80 µm up to 2000 µm. RoHS2 compliant grades are available, as well as a REACH compliant grade suitable in principle for food contact applications in line with EU No 10/2011 and FDA. Selected TPU grades are phthalate and plasticizer-free, more than 25% bio-based and OEKO-TEX compliant.

Key properties

• Powder form: Supplied as powder in a wide range of particle sizes, making Opti-Max suitable for powder applicators, lamination, compounding and masterbatch production.
• Hot melt and adhesive performance: EVA and TPU grades combine good adhesion with low melting points from 67°C, for hot melt and reactive hot melt adhesives.
• Stretch and elasticity: TPU grades offer outstanding stretch and elasticity, an extremely fast crystallization rate and high heat resistance.
• Washing and chemical resistance: Textile grades withstand washing at 60°C, have very good dry-cleaning resistance and resist oil and grease.
• Transparency and cold flexibility: Specialty polymer grades combine high transparency with flexibility at low temperatures, including grades for soft PVC replacement in film applications.
• Improved dispersion: Enhanced flow characteristics can improve filler and pigment dispersion in thermoplastic compounds and masterbatches.
• Bio-based and plasticizer-free: Selected TPU grades are based on more than 25% bio-material and are free from phthalates and plasticizers.
• Lightweight properties: With a density of 0.88 g/cm³, specialty polymer grades reduce overall product weight.
